Adapting to new EU privacy laws

Unless you have been hidden under a rock during the last months (and without Internet!), you know that on May 25, 2018, a new privacy law called GDPR has been activated to protect EU customers from companies that collect personal data and abuse from it.

MP4repair.org has never been such an abusive company.

Since 2012, when we have started the service, until the present, we have always respected the spirit of this new law: That customers have the right to control how their personal data is being used, to know why it’s needed in the first place, and to request it be deleted.

Therefore, the new law hasn’t questioned the way our business operates. But we had to make a few changes to make MP4repair.org fully compliant.

The changes are:

  • We have modified the Privacy Policy (effective 25 May 2018). Now it includes more information about what data is collected, and why.
  • You are prompted to explicitly accept our privacy policy before sending us personal data.

Not just EU customers benefit from the new law. All our customers can exercise their rights regarding their personal data by using this form.
